H2 Equity Partners (“H2”) is pleased to announce it has acquired Dales Engineering Limited, better known as Dales Marine (“Dales”) alongside the management team.
Dales was founded in 1987 and is the largest Scottish specialist marine services provider focusing on ship repair, maintenance, and conversion, operating 5 dry docks across East and West Scotland.
The business offers customers a high level of service and reliability across scheduled and emergency maintenance, repairs, conversions, and fabrications. A significant amount of service demand is driven by regulatory requirements to maintain seaworthy certification with all vessels required to dry dock every 2.5 years on average or annually in the case of passenger carrying vessels.
In addition to dry docking and associated alongside marine services, Dales also provides fabrication services and ship conversions and has recently entered the decommissioning market. Dales is the only accredited provider of ship decommissioning services in Scotland holding a Scottish Environment Protection Agency license.
Following H2’s investment, management, led by CEO Michael Milne, will work closely with H2 to deliver Dales’ growth strategy and ensure that it continues to provide its market leading services to existing and new customers.
