Acal BFi, an H2 portfolio company, has acquired Impulse Embedded and Arcobel Embedded Solutions

Acal BFi Group (“Acal”) has acquired two businesses, Impulse Embedded and Arcobel Embedded Solutions, strategically expanding and deepening the Group’s Embedded Computing offering.

Impulse Embedded (www.impulse-embedded.co.uk), acquired in July 2024, is a leading provider of industrial computing, embedded systems, and industrial IoT solutions based in Stoke on Trent in the United Kingdom. Established in 1993, Impulse Embedded is a trusted partner to its customers across the UK and Ireland, offering comprehensive services ranging from device supply to full solution design, build, configuration, and network services. Their expertise spans a wide range of applications, including Industrial Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Power & Energy, Medical, and Rail.

Arcobel Embedded Solutions B.V. www.arcobel.com, acquired in September 2024, is a leading supplier of industrial PCs, embedded IoT systems, and network solutions for the industrial sector in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Based in Heesch, the Netherlands, and founded 50 years ago,  Arcobel designs and sells multi-vendor systems, as well as developing and assembling standard and custom-made embedded hardware solutions for the Transport, Industrial Automation, IoT, Defence & Aerospace, and Cybersecurity & Surveillance markets.

These acquisitions mark a significant step in Acal’s strategy to expand its existing Embedded Computing business by acquiring established companies with a similar design-led solutions approach, strong brand recognition and an excellent client base. With the addition of Impulse and Arcobel, Acal now generates EUR 240 million in revenue, further cementing its position as a leading European technology specialist providing value-added design solutions, electronic components and custom products across a broad range of technologies and applications.

Henry joined H2 in 2024 and is involved in both evaluating new investment opportunities and supporting existing portfolio companies.

 

Prior to joining H2, Henry spent nearly six years at the strategy consultancy firm, Roland Berger, where he was a core member of the Transaction & Investor Services platform supporting private equity and strategic investors across the Industrial and Regulated & Infrastructure sectors predominantly within the mid-market.

 

Henry graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Bachelor (Hons) in Economics. His interests outside of work are road cycling where he competes in time trials, running and skiing.
